I build the software I want to use

So far that's two open-source apps: Sonic Archive, a catalog for my CD rips, and Static FM, a radio for the music I've saved from YouTube. Both run on your own computer.

cat about.md

I'm studying Computer Science at North South University. Outside coursework I mostly write TypeScript: small apps with a SQLite database, tests, and a README a stranger can follow. I use Arch Linux every day, and learn networking and security by setting things up on my own machines.

I'd rather finish one thing properly than start five. A project is done when it has tests, docs and a release someone else can install.

  1. sonic-archive/

    v0.1.0 released

    software · open source

A catalog for a lossless CD collection that never writes to your music. It splits CD images by their CUE sheets, reads EAC and XLD rip logs for AccurateRip results, shows booklet scans and OBI strips, compares pressings side by side, and measures dynamic range. Runs on your own computer.

Sonic Archive's collection page: album covers with OBI strips, grouped by artist, with format, a verified-rip badge and the pressing under each

  2. static-fm/

    v0.1.0 released

    software · open source

A web radio for music saved on YouTube, with an early-2000s feel: stations on a tuner dial, static between them, a tape band that saves copies with yt-dlp, and a record crate for the whole library. Runs on your own computer.

Static FM tuned to a folk station: the tuner dial, a video playing, the amber frequency display and the coming-up list
